SUMMARY
Senate Bill 381 proposes a technical amendment to the Health Insurance Alliance statute. The
technical amendment allows an employer to take up health insurance coverage for its employees
through both the Health Insurance Alliance and a state or federal agency offering health
insurance coverage based on the employees’ income.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
There are no direct fiscal implications of this bill. However, the effect should be to broaden the
utilization of the State Coverage Insurance thus increasing the state’s general fund requirement
to support the program.
