SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 195 amends Section 30-31-20 NMSA 1978 to prohibit the suspension, deferral or
advisement of a sentence of imprisonment imposed for the unlawful manufacture of metham-
phetamine. The effective date of the Act is July 1, 2006
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
There may be minimal administrative cost for statewide update, distribution, and documentation
of statutory changes and the enforcement of this law. New laws, amendments to existing laws,
and new hearings have the potential to increase caseloads in the courts, thus requiring additional
resources to handle the increase.
