SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

House Bill 782 appropriates $200.0 from the general fund to the Secretary of State to provide for

the addition of at least two additional FTE within the Bureau of Elections whose primary duties

are the enforcement of the Election Code, including the Federal Voting Rights Compliance Act.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The appropriation of $200.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any

unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the

general fund.

RELATIONSHIP

The General Appropriation Act (HAFC Substitute for House Bill 2) includes $2,109.3 from the

general fund in the personal services and employee benefits category, including $143.8 (2 FTE)

in base expansion.
