SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 747 appropriates $28.0 from the general fund to the Department of Public Safety for
the purpose of a homeland-security-related survey of commercially owned and operated explo-
sives storage facilities in New Mexico.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $28.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert
to the general fund.
The Governor’s Office/Homeland Security states the expenditures could include staff and/or
contract time for attending meetings, conducting research, mileage reimbursement to perform
site visits and other administrative expenses. The Governor’s Office/Homeland Security notes
the proposed legislation does not indicate a need for additional funding for the survey.
