SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 690 appropriates $75 thousand from the general fund to the Tourism Department to
fund a simulcast of the Santa Fe opera.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $75 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall
revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Tourism Department supports funding for a simulcast of the Santa Fe Opera and believes a
global simulcast in cities around the world will generate interest in the Santa Fe opera in New
