SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 599 appropriates $250.0 thousand from the general fund to the Vocational
Rehabilitation Division of the Public Education Department for the purpose of removing
architectural barriers in homes and purchase adaptive equipment for elderly Native Americans or
Native Americans with disabilities.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $250.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any
unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY07 shall revert to the general
fund.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
ALTSD will begin administration of a similar program known as GAP and unless the intent is to
augment vocational initiatives then consideration should be given to making the appropriation to
that agency.
