SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 555 appropriates $50 thousand from the general fund to the Local Government Divi-
sion (LGD) of the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) in FY07 for a racing mu-
seum in Albuquerque.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $50 thousand contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY07 would revert to
the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
According to DFA, funds will be used to plan, design, build, equip and furnish interactive kiosk
exhibits, typically free-standing information displays that allow users to retrieve information
through touch-screens, buttons, and video displays. Interactive kiosks are frequently controlled
by computers running software written with multimedia authoring software.

DFA indicated the proposed legislation for the appropriation of $50,000.00 is only part of a re-
quested $1.2 million dollars. There is also a landscaping component which might use a portion
of this requested amount.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
DFA noted administration of this legislation if passed would go directly to the Village of Los
Ranchos De Albuquerque.
