SUMMARY
House Bill 346 appropriates $100.0 to DCA to fund traditional and contemporary Native Ameri-
can performances in Santa Fe and provide opportunities for statewide participation to educate
schoolchildren.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
House Bill 346 appropriates $100.0 from the general fund and is recurring. Any unexpended or
unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY07 shall revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
House Bill 346 would provide funding to support arts and cultural disciplines, art, dance, drama
and music and literacy. This legislation will also support and encourage new performing arts tal-
ent from the Native American community.
PERFORMANCE IMPLICATIONS
The arts make unique contributions to education, culture and society. Students, teachers, parents
and community members would benefit from a Native American arts, culture and education pro-
