SUMMARY
House Bill 238 appropriates from the general fund to DCA for the production of a documentary
film on the history of the Camino Real.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
House Bill 238 appropriates $600.0 from the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered
balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
According to DCA, this is a proposal from the Encuentros Institute. The writer/producer of the
documentary is Steve Jimenez, an experienced filmmaker, in association with Estevan Rael-
Galvez, State Historian and Gabrielle Palmer of the Encuentros Institute.
PERFORMANCE IMPLICATIONS
According to DCA, this project correlates appropriately with the department’s Camino Real In-
