I request that the following be funded:

NMSBVI & NMSD INFRA DEFICIENCIES CORRECT

forty million dollars ($40,000,000) for correcting outstanding health, safety and

infrastructure deficiencies in the buildings and on the grounds of the New Mexico school for

the blind and visually impaired and the New Mexico school for the deaf pursuant to Section

22-24-5.6 NMSA 1978, contingent on the enactment into law of an amendment to the Public

School Capital Outlay Act to authorize these defined projects to come under the purview of

the Public School Capital Outlay Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining

at the end of fiscal year 2011 shall not revert to the general fund but shall remain in the

public school capital outlay fund and be expended pursuant to the Public School Capital

Outlay Act.
