AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A METHAMPHETAMINE PROSECUTION UNIT IN THE SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thirty-six thousand five hundred dollars ($336,500) is appropriated from the general fund to the second judicial district attorney for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for a methamphetamine prosecution unit that prosecutes felony crimes related to methamphetamine. The appropriation shall be used for salaries and benefits for four assistant trial attorneys, two secretaries, one prosecution specialist and associated operating expenses. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
