AN ACT
MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO CREATE AEROSPACE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTS AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY AND THE NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--
A. One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 and succeeding fiscal years to create an aerospace engineering department. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
B. Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 and succeeding fiscal years to create an aerospace engineering department. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
