AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NEW MEXICO COMMISSION ON ACCESS TO JUSTICE TO CONTINUE ITS WORK ON ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM OF PROVIDING LEGAL ACCESS TO LOW-INCOME PERSONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ninety-eight thousand six hundred thirty-four dollars ($98,634) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for the New Mexico commission on access to justice to finalize its report to the supreme court, begin implementation of its recommendations, conduct public hearings, help low-income persons access available resources, produce videos on the scope of the problem of the legal needs of low-income persons and employ a statewide program manager to staff the commission. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
