AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY THE EXPENSES OF TRANSFERRING PRISONERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Five hundred eighty thousand dollars ($580,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to pay the following counties' expenses of transferring prisoners in the following amounts:

                (1) three hundred thirty thousand dollars ($330,000) for Luna county;

                (2) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for Sierra county; and

                (3) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for Hidalgo county.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
