AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR A FETAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME AWARENESS PILOT PROJECT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to contract with a nonprofit organization for a fetal alcohol syndrome awareness pilot project. The project shall show the film Gary and the Angels and conduct associated awareness initiatives in public schools and target health areas throughout the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
