AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO EMPLOY STAFF AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO SUPPORT OUTREACH AND RETENTION OF STUDENTS IN CHICANO PROGRAMS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to hire appropriate staff to support outreach and retention of students in chicano programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
