FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO EXPAND ENROLLMENT IN THE SCHOOL OF MEDICINE COMBINED DEGREE PROGRAM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to expand enrollment in the school of medicine combined bachelor's degree and medical degree program to increase the number of physicians practicing in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
