AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR JUDICIAL SALARY INCREASES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million three hundred fifty-five thousand seven hundred eighty-four dollars ($1,355,784) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to provide salary increases pursuant to the provisions of Section 34-1-9 NMSA 1978 to the chief justice and justices of the supreme court; the chief judges and judges of the court of appeals, district courts and metropolitan courts; and presiding magistrates and magistrates. The salary increases shall be effective the first full pay period after July 1, 2006. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
