FOR THE COURTS, CORRECTIONS AND JUSTICE COMMITTEE
AN ACT
MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO REPLACE FEDERAL FUNDS AND TO EXPAND AND CREATE CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS IN JUDICIAL DISTRICTS STATEWIDE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--
A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for the following purposes:
(1) two hundred fifty-three thousand eight hundred thirty-two dollars ($253,832) for children‛s court mediation programs in abuse and neglect cases to replace federal grant funds in the second, fifth, sixth, seventh, eleventh and thirteenth judicial districts, expand programs in the fifth and eleventh judicial districts, create programs in the third, fourth, ninth, tenth and twelfth judicial districts and fund network services for training, technical assistance, evaluation, monitoring and quality assurance;
(2) three hundred seventy-six thousand six hundred ninety-three dollars ($376,693) to expand access and visitation programs in the first, fifth, ninth and thirteenth judicial districts, create access and visitation programs in the fourth, seventh, eighth and twelfth judicial districts and fund network services for training, technical assistance, quality assurance, monitoring and auditing; and
(3) one hundred ninety-seven thousand nine hundred sixty-eight dollars ($197,968) to expand court- appointed special advocate programs in the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth judicial districts and fund network services for training, technical assistance and quality assurance.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
