AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES PROGRAMS ON TRIBAL LANDS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for supporting temporary assistance for needy families programs on tribal lands, to be distributed as follows:

                (1) one million dollars ($1,000,000) for Navajo Nation programs supporting temporary assistance for needy families programs; and

                (2) five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for Pueblo of Zuni tribal programs supporting temporary assistance for needy families programs.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
