AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WATER MODEL PROGRAMS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to contract with a national research laboratory in Bernalillo county with expertise in water modeling. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund. The appropriation shall be distributed as follows:

          A. seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to develop a water model program for the Estancia basin; and

          B. seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to develop a water model program for the Salt basin.
