AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A RURAL REGIONAL TRANSIT DISTRICT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of transportation for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to establish a rural regional transit district that encompasses Luna, Hidalgo and Grant counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
