AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT FOR THERAPEUTIC CHILD CARE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to provide therapeutic child care for low-income families with children from birth to age six who have a diagnosed and documented special need. The child care provider shall serve low-income families, have a teacher-to-child ratio not exceeding three-to-one and operate a full-day year-round program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
