AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR BILINGUAL SPANISH CLASS EXPANSION AT NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 and subsequent fiscal years for the addition of new faculty members in the university's Spanish language initiative to expand bilingual programming in general education, business, education and social work classes. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
