AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RESEARCH FOR AN ACEQUIA HISTORY PROJECT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state records center for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for the state historian to conduct archival and ethnographic research on acequias to be incorporated into New Mexico history courses in the public schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
