AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR TEACHERS AND PRINCIPALS DEDICATED TO CLOSING THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP FOR RURAL STUDENTS IN NORTHERN NEW MEXICO.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for professional development programs for teachers and principals dedicated to closing the achievement gap for rural students in northern New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
