AN ACT

RELATING TO HIGHER EDUCATION; ALLOWING BACHELOR OF AVIATION SCIENCE AND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES MANAGEMENT DEGREES TO BE EARNED AT THE ROSWELL BRANCH CAMPUS OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY--ROSWELL BRANCH CAMPUS--BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREES AWARDED.--The board of regents of eastern New Mexico university may establish programs at the Roswell branch campus that lead to a bachelor of aviation science degree and a bachelor of science degree in emergency medical services management. The program leading to a bachelor of science in emergency medical services management shall be a web-based program that can be marketed and offered nationally.

     Section 2. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of eastern New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal years 2006 and 2007 to establish bachelor of science degrees in aviation science and in emergency medical services management. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
