AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A COMPREHENSIVE HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEY OF THE PECOS RIVER BASIN.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty million dollars ($250,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state engineer for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 and subsequent fiscal years to fund a comprehensive hydrographic survey of all water resources in the Pecos river drainage basin. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
