Mr. Speaker:

    Your VOTERS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 530

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 18, after "2007" strike the remainder of the line, strike line 19 up to "if" and insert in lieu thereof "to purchase from counties the voting machines on which those counties have outstanding debt,".

     2. On page 1, line 22, before the period insert "; provided that the county agrees to immediately repay any money owed on those voting machines upon receipt of payment from the secretary of state".

     3. On page 1, line 24, strike "electronic voting machine revolving" and insert in lieu thereof "general".,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
