AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR OUTREACH TO COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN AN ASTEROID AND COMET STUDIES PROGRAM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to improve recruitment of community college students through participation in an asteroid and comet studies program that exposes students to hands-on research at the Magdalena Ridge observatory. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
