    Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 449

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, between lines 18 and 19, insert the following new section:

     "Section 2. PURPOSE.--The purpose of the Information Technology Student Loan for Service Act is to proactively address the shortage of state employees proficient in information technology by providing students with the financial means to complete or enhance their postgraduate education in information technology.".

     2. Renumber the succeeding sections accordingly.

     3. On page 1, line 24, strike "an" and insert in lieu thereof "a public post-secondary educational".

     4. On page 5, line 22, strike "5" and insert in lieu thereof "6".,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
