AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND FUND A SYMPOSIUM FOR THE BOSQUE REDONDO MEMORIAL AT FORT SUMNER.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred sixty thousand dollars ($160,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to develop educational programs and fund a symposium for the Bosque Redondo memorial at Fort Sumner. The educational programs and symposium shall focus on the long walk of the Navajo and their five-year internment at the Bosque Redondo reservation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
