AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES FOR ELDERLY, DISABLED AND LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS IN SANTA FE, TAOS AND TORRANCE COUNTIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to contract with a nonprofit organization that provides adult daycare services and community outreach services for elderly, disabled and low-income individuals in Santa Fe, Taos and Torrance counties.

          B. The appropriation provided in Subsection A of this section is designated for program management and operational support for financial education and case management services, adult daycare services, home visiting services, health care education and advocacy programs and home safety assessments and installations.

          C. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
