AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP A MODEL FOR SERVICE DELIVERY TO TREAT CHRONIC MEDICAL DISEASES AND TO MONITOR OUTCOMES IN RURAL AND UNDERSERVED AREAS OF NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for the school of medicine to work with the corrections department and a network of primary care clinics to continue to develop a model of training and service delivery utilizing interactive telemedicine for screening and treatment of chronic medical diseases in rural and underserved areas of New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
