AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CULTURAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT TO FUND STATEWIDE EDUCATIONAL ART PROGRAMS, CONSERVATION OF ARTWORK COLLECTIONS AND PUBLIC AWARENESS ACTIVITIES THROUGH A MUSEUM IN SANTA FE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to fund statewide educational art outreach programs, maintain and conserve artwork collections and develop public activities aimed at raising national and international awareness of New Mexico's importance to the art world. The programs and activities shall be conducted through a museum located in Santa Fe that is primarily dedicated to a female artist of the twentieth century. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
