    Your GOVERNMENT AND URBAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 231

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 15, strike "APPROPRIATION" and insert in lieu thereof "APPROPRIATIONS".

     2. On page 1, lines 16 and 17, strike "One million two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000)" and insert in lieu thereof "One million dollars ($1,000,000)".

     3. On page 1, line 21, after the semicolon insert "and".

     4. On page 1, lines 22 through 24, strike paragraph (2) in its entirety.

     5. Renumber the succeeding paragraph accordingly.

     6. On page 2, lines 2 and 3, strike "an emergency" and insert in lieu thereof "a".

     7. On page 2, between lines 3 and 4, insert the following new subsection:

          "B. Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables grown in New Mexico for school lunches.".

     8. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
