HOUSE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___2__ to HOUSE BILL 81

Amendment sponsored by Representative

    1. On page 2, line 6, strike "and" and insert in lieu thereof a comma and after "D" insert "and F".

    2. On page 4, between lines 14 and 15, insert the following new subsection:

         "F. The tuition scholarships authorized in this section shall also apply to children:

             (1) of those persons who were residents of New Mexico and who were killed in action during their military service in the military forces of the United States or the New Mexico national guard; and

             (2) who have completed:

                  (a) a high school curriculum at a public or accredited private high school that may be located in another state; or

                  (b) any requirements for a graduate equivalent diploma and have received the diploma; and

             (3) who immediately upon completion of the requirements of Paragraph (2) of this subsection are accepted for entrance to and attend one of the state educational institutions set forth in this section or one of the branches of those institutions.".

    3. Renumber the succeeding subsection accordingly.
