Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 2 appropriates $24.5 million from the GENERAL FUND to the Human Services
Department for the purpose of providing economic relief to New Mexico citizens due to high
energy prices. In addition, the bill creates a fund at DFA for donations to be used for purposes
related to high energy process.
Section 1 creates the Gasoline and Home Heating Relief Fund in the state treasury to be
administered by the Department of Finance and Administration. The fund shall consist of
appropriations, gifts, grants and donations and is appropriated to DFA. The funds are to be used
