A MEMORIAL

REQUESTING THAT THE TAXATION AND REVENUE DEPARTMENT STUDY THE IMPACT OF REPEALING THE STATE TAX ON SALES OF GASOLINE.

 

     WHEREAS, most New Mexicans must use their vehicles daily; and

     WHEREAS, the cost of gasoline is creating a financial hardship for many New Mexicans; and

     WHEREAS, the federal and state taxes levied on gasoline purchases add to the expense of gasoline purchases;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the taxation and revenue department study the impact of repealing the state tax on sales of gasoline and report its findings to the second session of the forty-seventh legislature; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be

transmitted to the secretary of taxation and revenue.
