A JOINT MEMORIAL
PROCLAIMING MARCH 7, 2005 AS "SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DAY" AT THE LEGISLATURE.
WHEREAS, each year, Santa Fe community college serves fourteen thousand five hundred students from throughout northern and central New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college offers a wide range of educational programs and services to meet the needs of business, government and a diverse population; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college is a comprehensive college that enhances the quality of lives by providing academic, career and personal-enrichment programs; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Fe community college curricula assists students, including adult students, to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure a successful future through associate degrees, transfer curricula, certificates and letters of qualification linked to their continued education and work force training; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college has nurtured and fostered a student-centered educational environment; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college and its governing board, administration, faculty and staff believe strongly in the mission of the college, which is "helping students succeed and serving our community";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that March 7, 2005 be proclaimed "Santa Fe Community College Day" at the legislature to honor and showcase the contribution and commitment of Santa Fe community college to the surrounding communities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the president of Santa Fe community college.
