Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 45 notes that is resolved by the Senate of the State of New Mexico that the
Lady Broncos and their coach have earned the congratulations and respect of their opponents
and further resolves that that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to Central High School in
Kirtland, New Mexico.
Significant Issues
Information on the memorial notes that:
•
the Kirtland Central High School girls basketball team won the state girls basketball
class 4A championship on March 11, 2005; and this marks the third consecutive state
championship for the Kirtland "Lady Broncos"; and
•
Coach Mike Christie led the Lady Broncos to their fourth state championship in the past
five years;
•
this is the seventeenth Lady Broncos state championship in the past twenty-five years;
and
•
the Lady Broncos defeated Deming sixty-five to fifty before eleven thousand fans;
