SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 38 seeks to ensure that the City of Albuquerque complies with its established
policy regarding the Montano project prior to proceeding to stripe Montano boulevard for four
lanes of traffic.
Significant Issues
The army corps of engineers’ permit 404 for the Montano bridge project provided that the
boulevard be limited permanently to two lanes with unrestricted use and one reversible direction
lane that shall be reserved for restricted use by high occupancy vehicles and buses. City of Albu-
querque city council Resolution 104 provides that substantial progress be made on certain pro-
jects before the city evaluates the need for an additional two lanes on Montano bridge.
