SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 17 recognizes the effort that the Village of Corrales has put forth in the estab-
lishing and maintaining the Corrales Bosque and adds the Senate’s support to the Village of Cor-
rales’ governing body’s opposition to the construction of the proposed regional bicycle trail
within a particular stretch of the Bosque located within the Village of Corrales.
Significant Issues:
The governor has proposed extending the multi-use trail in the Albuquerque portion of the Rio
Grande Bosque north into Sandoval County. The specific route for the trail extension through
Sandoval County has not been selected, but is presumed to be on the west side of the river which
runs through Corrales. SM 17 supports the Village of Corrales’ opposition of running a paved
bicycle trail thru the portion of the Bosque herein called the Corrales Bosque reserve.
