SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 911 appropriates $500 thousand from the general fund to the Martin Luther King
Commission for a peace conference to be held in Santa Fe and planned in cooperation with the
King center in Atlanta.
Significant Issues
MLK supports such a conference in New Mexico. The conference would identify current issues
and new programs that are successful throughout the country. It would also provide an opportu-
nity to recognize NM citizens who have promoted the principles and philosophy of MLK.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $500 thousand contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the gen-
eral fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY06 shall revert
to the general fund.
