SUMMARY

Synopsis of SEC Substitute

The bill provides for a name change to Luna Community College from the name Luna Voca-

tional-Technical Institute, established in 1970. As well, the bill provides for a name change to

Mesalands Community College from Mesa Technical College

The bill provides the colleges shall be organized under Chapter 21, Article 13 NMSA 1978, oth-

erwise known as the Community College Act. All existing references to the governing board,

tax revenues, bond payments, and statutory citations would be aligned with the name change for

each college.

The bill does not contain an appropriation.
