SUMMARY
Synopsis of SPAC Amendment
The SPAC amendment to Senate Bill 879 would make the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Water
Utility Authority subject to Chapter 72 NMSA 1978 regarding any change to the point of diver-
sion or the place or purpose of use of any water right to any place selected by the authority in
order to make water available to the authority.
Synopsis of Original Bill
Senate Bill 879 proposes a substantial revision of Section 72-1-10 NMSA 1978 creating the Al-
buquerque-Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. In particular, the bill would:
1.
Establish a process for allowing members of the board of directors to appoint substitutes
if they cannot attend a meeting;
2.
Set a one-year term for board members;
