SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 783
amends the Public Regulation Commission Act to add to the organizational units
that make up the PRC. A commissioner division will be created. Presently, the Commissioners
and their assistants are part of the existing administrative services division. In all, the PRC now
has six divisions. Also, this bill provides that the new division will include one assistant for each
commissioner to address administrative functions.
Significant Issues
The DFA provides the executive and legislative branches the option to separately budget the ex-
penses of the PRC commissioners and provide better accountability for their expenses. In the
past, PRC allocated parts of its program-related budgets to pay for the expenses of the commis-
sioners.
