SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 145 directs the Department of Game and Fish (DGF) to develop and administer a
gaining access to nature program and provides for the State Game Commission to issue permits,
licenses and other authorizations for access to state game commission properties. Further SB
145 provides for proceeds generated to be deposited into the game protection fund.

Significant Issues
This bill provides the mechanism for persons other than hunters, anglers, and trappers to partici-
pate in wildlife related recreation opportunities on State Game Commission owned properties.
PERFORMANCE IMPLICATIONS
The Department Strategic Plan for FY06 to FY10 identifies a goal of providing a minimum of
10,000 GAIN recreation related user days annually.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Each user day of GAIN related activities can to generate approximately $5 to $80 in fees. The
annual revenue generated is expected to be $50,000 to $100,000.
