SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 41 extends the number of candidate filing days from one day to two for all federal,
state, municipal, school district and community college board elections. Senate Bill 41 applies to
both primary and general elections.
Significant Issues
An additional day that a candidate would have to file as a candidate creates some additional ac-
cessibility to aspiring elected officials and would potentially facilitate broader participation.
WHAT WILL BE THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT ENACTING THIS BILL.
