House Joint Memorial 82 resolves that July 15, 2005 be declared “Bob Foster Day” and that a

copy of this memorial be transmitted to Bob Foster

Significant Issues

HJM82 acknowledges the stellar boxing career of Bob Foster, for six years the light heavy

weight champion of the world and a veteran of fights against his era’s best boxers. After retiring

from boxing in 1978 with a career record of 56-8-1, Bob Foster worked as a deputy sheriff in

Bernalillo County for twenty years. Immediately upon retiring from boxing, Bob Foster re-

mained involved in the sport by training young boxers and donating his time dong community

service with youth at the San Jose Community Center in Albuquerque.
